FILM INSTALLATION & PERFORMANCE
In the coarse mineral landscape unfolds a strange parade. Two supple bodies, sensual yet fragile, detach themselves from the spectacular scenery; beige tones on light brown tones, vertical heights and oscillating movements that draw entrances between the valleys and the ridges in the landscape. Their sinuous dance, modulated by an erotic tension, seems to perform forgotten, immemorial nuptial rites. Might it be possible that they recount the footsteps of a civilisation, on the cusp or the breaking point of humanity.
Borrowing from the codes of wildlife footage and from the coming-of-age stories to better distance itself from the first, the film merges genres with confidence. The diverse levels of the soundtrack add texture to this game of illusions. It reinforces the sensation of a waking dream. Horsetail Knickerbelt resonates like a fable, continually strengthening and dilating the connections between tangible world and representation.
